Kentucky Purchasing Cooperatives

Four Kentucky educational cooperatives have partnered to form the Kentucky Purchasing Cooperatives. This expanded consortium has the buying power of approximately 110 Kentucky school districts, or 63% of the state’s public school systems!

KPC solicits bid proposals for products and services commonly used from one school district to another – ranging from office supplies and computer software to band supplies and food – on behalf of its member districts. This collective bidding approach benefits school districts and vendors alike. It allows vendors to prepare and submit only one bid proposal for KPC, as opposed to reviewing bid specifications and customizing individual proposals for each cooperative or district. It also increases the potential for high-volume sales for participating vendors. KPC’s buying power is an incentive for vendors to offer lower prices and greater discounts to school districts, meaning schools that face leaner budgets can stretch their dollars a little further.

KPC is also making it easier for districts to buy products and services with online, electronic procurement. By clicking on the Shop KPC link, school purchasers may search for the items that they need and submit a single purchase order to KPC, rather than submitting multiple purchase orders to each vendor.

KPC’s partnering cooperatives include the Green River Regional Educational Cooperative based in Bowling Green, the Kentucky Educational Development Corporation based in Ashland, the Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services based in Highland Heights, and the Southeast/South Central Educational Cooperative based in Richmond.

While these four educational cooperatives partner with each other for collective bidding, each offers its own menu of services to its member districts. For more information about each KPC partnering cooperative, please click on the links below.
